interesting and probably the worst plilt kal trend is in '88, there was a guy named brown that designed the dekawkis ad who came back with sicitizens unite. i think the worst trend was to take the lid off of the money, which was a right winged strategy that really backfired. it really drove them into the ground in the sense that i think that they thought they had bought ann election. it was almost like you send your credit card something and you go to pick it up and the merchandise is not there. it was the worst trend. it didn't happen because hay that had not believed in that trend, they might have done more work and they might have moved to a more sensible political policy. >> money can't buy you love, reverend. >> they did. they put all of their faith in the power of money. >> money can't buy you love. and when it does, they're going to always say what have you done for me lately? >> i mean, i could do these songs all day. >> there are more revvies to come. stay with us. . >> the revvies return with newt gingrich, rick santoru. but, first, the rerks evvie for outstanding achievement i

brown who does very well in special elections. he's the republican who stunned the world in 2010 and grabbed a seat. he lost it in the tough election this time around but in a special election, a low voter turnout, he'll be strong and we're not seeing much from the national democrats yet and i think they got a real problem here. >> frank, talk about that. because obviously if the democrats only -- and duval patrick wants someone interim in the post aend not run in the special election, wouldn't it make sense that person would gain the traction they need in a special election to face-off against someone with star power like scott brown? we look at the latest wbr poll with 58% favorable even after the bruising against elizabeth warren. do we know if he wants it? >> we don't know officially. his father died a couple of days ago so all attempts to get to him is put off and you saw him election night, came out and gracious and talked about coming back, the sub text there was there's a special election and farewell address to the u.s. senate, last couple of weeks ago, he said the same

. the brown and the gray. what are the differences between them and how are they clashing now that we get closer and closer to the fiscal cliff? >> the brown and the gray is a phrase i've been using for the last few years to describe the two giant generations that will shape american life in the coming decades. the brown is the millennial, the most diverse in american history. over 40% nonwhite. the gray is the aging baby boom which is joining the silent generation in a huge senior cohort that is 80% white. and they have very different political inclinations, preferences and different interests at stake in the fiscal cliff and budget negotiations. on the one hand, taxes verse spending and so does the kind of spending. discretionary spending mostly investments in the future. entitlement spending mostly income security for the older generation. >> so who benefits if we do cross the fiscal cliff? >> i think there is no question that getting the debt and deficit under control is in the interests of younger generations so they are not saddled with debt solely for our current consumption. but h

a browning over/under, if you want to know what the business end of it looks like, come through the house. it won't matter if i'm the "new york post" or "new york daily news" or not. people who own guns, publish it. that is the point. this is a safety factor. this house protected by smith and wesen, you mean business. >> kimberly: i have a bumper sticker. >> greg: this reminded me in allentown where you once lived people would put alarm signs on their houses when they didn't have an alarm that used to tick me off because i pay for the alarm. >> andrea: i had a fake car alarm for the car, i couldn't afford the alarm, so i was one of those people. you are a former magazine editor. this is hardly irresponsible. there is a way to do the story like there always is, they could have done it with journalistic integrity, publish the number of people in each town or went town by town. this is basically demonizing the gun owners as well. this is a manhattan based paper. suburb of manhattan. they always do this. they treat gun owners like they are sex offenders. now it's not -- the liberal way is acc

income tax increases. some of the new england moderates, scott brown and susan collins. it doesn't seem like it would be as challenging to get something out of the senate. he is not going to stick his neck out and get something to the senate floor to have the house blow it up. >> marty, we have heard voices saying the same thing. you have tom coal saying we should go long with the tax increases. >> even in the minority. the republicans were 20 votes short. we sometimes forget, that's significant. they were only 20 votes short. nancy pelosi and the democrats, the idea of getting all the democrats to sign and bring the bill to the floor. if you can get 15 it 20 republicans to also sign on, maybe the tom cole types, they say we are not going to get a better deal and we don't want the party to pay hell for this. >> it seems unlikely. it's almost unheard of for a minority party and force action by the majority party on the floor. it might sound like a nice idea and say we are all unified. if you find the 15 or 20 republicans, good luck. they would be outcasts in their conference. as it is, t
